Hundreds of WCPSS students brought out their cleats, sneakers, banners, and signs to participate in the Wake County Special Olympics on April 23 and 24 at the Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. About 625 student athletes participated in track and field competition over the two-day event while their classmates, teachers, parents, and volunteers from WCPSS and Ravenscroft cheered them on.

This is the 25th year that Ravenscroft has hosted the spring track and field games. For more information on how to participate, families can check with their schools and visit the local Special Olympics Wake County website.

Another 575 students will participate in another Special Olympics event at Cary Academy on May 7 and 8.
