A reason to be thankful at Mary Phillips High School

It didn’t take long for the students at Mary Phillips High School to list all of the things they were thankful for as they prepared to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. They came up with so many reasons, they created a turkey and each feather listed a reason for thanks.

WCPSS students attend Great Xplorations career fair

More than 750 WCPSS high school students gathered at the McKimmon Center at N.C. State University on November 22 to learn about potential careers at the annual Great Xplorations Career Fair. Students talked with 175 representatives from businesses, colleges and the military about continuing their education beyond high school, professional networking, leadership development and opportunities in various industries.

 

Brentwood plans new garden with grant

Brentwood Magnet School of Engineering students were winners of the Moe’s and Poe Garden Project. The Poe Center for Health Education worked with Moe’s Southwest Grill to give school’s a chance to compete for a garden grant. Representatives from Poe and Moe’s visited the school to share lessons about eating healthy and present a check to help students start their garden.

 

WCPSS teachers receive Fuquay-Varina Woman’s Club grants
