The Board will discuss the policy and its implications.

Revisions for Board Policy 1321: Board Meeting Preparation

The Board will view and discuss a proposed change to Policy 1321: Board Meeting Preparation.

Revisions for Board Policy 1322: Agendas

The Board will view and discuss a proposed change to Policy 1322: Agendas.

School Innovation Update

Staff will present an update related to programming and logistics for the two single-gender leadership academies and Hilburn Drive Academy.

Overview and Initial Discussion of the Draft Strategic Plan for the District

Superintendent Tata will share a draft of a proposed strategic plan for the district aligned with the mission, vision, and core beliefs previously adopted by the Board. After a brief overview initial Board discussion will be solicited with additional discussion and review planned for the December 10th Board retreat.

2012-13 Instructional Calendars and Waiver Update

The calendar law has changed and the number of instructional days has increased to 185 while the number of workdays has decreased by five. The Wake County Public School System has submitted a waiver request to convert two instructional days to teacher workdays for professional development on common core, essential standards and assessments.
