WCPSS Teachers Receive Technology Grants

Five Wake County teachers received grants from Technology for Teaching in a ceremony Thursday night at the Raleigh Business and Technology Center.

The grant recipients were congratulated by Tristan and Stacy Pan of Technology for Teaching and WCPSS Chief Transformation Officer Judy Peppler.

Here is information on the teachers and the grants they received:

Barbara Cooper of Baucom Elementary received a $587.70 grant for the purchase of a Document Camera compatible with Smart Board Technology.

Janiece Dilts of Holly Springs High received a $999.00 grant to purchase 10 Amazon Kindles in support of her English I inclusion class.  

Jennifer Hosenfeld of Reedy Creek Elementary received a $1048.00 grant to purchase an AV Projector to be used with her autism classroom.  We will be giving her school $548 in cash and donating the electrical installation cost of $500 to a licensed electrician to mount and install the device.  

Laura Preston of Holly Springs High School received a $725.00 grant to purchase a Biometric Time Clock for her Occupational Course of Study.

Christine Tuttell and Margaret Knox-Ingle of Holly Grove Elementary received a $1,067.16 grant to purchase six Ipod Touches in support of their “Mountain to Sea Trail Social Studies Project.”
